Happy Valley - Part 2 - Kathy's Dilemma

The next day Tad's house
"Daddy I need $20 dollars for the trip and this permission form signed !'say Jenny as Tad using his computer and sitting at the table in the kitchen isn't listening
"Daddy did you hear me?'asks Jenny "I don't know why I bother talking To you anymore I don't matter to you!says Jenny under her breath
"What what did you?' says Tad coming out of his fog
"I asked you to sign this and give me twenty dollars!'says Jenny beligerently
"Here you go is twenty enough what did you need it for anyway?asks Tad
"if you had bothered to listen to me you would have heard me!'says Jenny"I'm going on a trip to the aquarium we hve to pay $20 dollars for the bus .Oh and I need another $10 for lunch!' she adds
"Jenny I realize that your getting older and I didn't quite listen to you this morning but there's no need for you to take that tone with me!'says Tad taking out his wallet handing her $30 dollars and the signed permission slip
"Whatever!'says Jenny accepting the money and the permission slip and then stalking off
"What's gotten into her?'Tad wonders"Jenny hurry up if you want a ride the car's leaving in 5 minutes!' yells Tad up to Jenny's room
"I'm coming hold your horses!' yells Jenny
"Jenny just hurry up will you!'
"I'm coming don't leave without me !'yells Jenny
"as if I would!" says Tad
Tad drops Jenny off at school and heads to the hospital
Meanwhile at Jenny's school
Jenny is talking to her friends Rose and Taylor
"I hate him!"says Jenny
"Hate who?'asks Taylor
"My Dad and my mom! My dad just fawns all over Kathy!It's Kathy this it's Kathy that!And then he gets married to this woman out of his past who produced my brother a year ago!Someone else for Dad to fawn over! And my mom marries the meanest man in town and doesn't tell me until a week later!
"but Kathy your Dad loves her and your mom loves him!'says Rose
"Bah so what did they think about me did they talk to me and now my Dad is bring home some twerp Michael cause he feels sorry for him.Did he ask me about that? No! It's Jenny I'm getting you a brother you like having another brother to take my attention away from you!'complains Jenny
"Really Jenny don't you think your exaggerating just a little and feeling sorry for yourself?'asks Rose
"No and what's it to you?'asks Jenny
"Gee you just dumped all over me and Taylor and then you ask me that? your a twit!'says Rose angrily
"Why am I even talking to you?You talk like a little immature adult!Oh yes I remember
I took pity on you!'says Jenny nastily
"That was cruel Jenny !Maybe you should think about who are your friends Jenny because at this rate you won't having any left!' says Taylor as they both watch Rose walk away angrily and then Taylor joins her
"I don't need than I don't need anyone !says Jenny
Flash to the hospital and Tad
Tad is entering Dottie's room with a huge bouquet of roses
"For me?"asks Dottie surprised and pleased "this is so sweet of you Tad!I'm going home as soon as Marissa get's here and signs the papers!'Dottie says
"Are you sure ?Everythings checked out good no lingering effects?' asks Tad
"No sweetie I'm good but Kathy's not I went down to her room this morning to see her and sh was off having tests!wha aren't you telling me Tad?'asks Dottie
"Can't get anything by you can I ?'says Tad with a goofy grin
"Tad quit stalling is it that bad?'asks Dottie
"David's not sure what's wrong but he thinks she might have something wrong with her heart!"
"her heart ?oh Tad but he can fix it right?'asks Dottie
"I don't know Dottie!'says Tad
'And your scared !It will be okay honey David is a great doctor! He'll figure out the problem and fix it !'says Dottie
"From your lips to God's ears !'says Tad and then on another train of thought he says changing the subject"Michael's coming home with us this afternoon!'
"Really Tad that's wonderful!I'm sure he's going to love his new room and life with us!
"I hope so!' says Tad"Okay all set to go Dottie I've signed the papers!'says Marissa coming in
'Oh good did you sign Mike out too?asks Dottie
"I'm going to go get Mike then!'says Tad"Can you take Dottie downstair to my car?'asks Tad of Marissa
"yes I'll do that bye Tad!"See you in a few minutes!"
"Okay so now Dottie you are both good to go now! Here is a prescription for Mike's meds and Dottie if you have any lingering headaches you come back and see me okay!'says Marissa
Tad enters Mikes' room to take him home and collects him.
"Do you like the new clothes were they okay? asks Tad worried Mike won't like them
"Like them their really rad!'says Mike
"Oh I guess that means you like them says Tad smiling and pushing in a wheelchair
"I'm not getting in that dorky thing !'says Mike pointing to the wheelchair!
"Sorry Buddy it's the rules they won't let you out of his joint if you don't get in !Marissa is pushing Dottie down to the car!'says Tad
"Hmm if I have to but I don't like this !'says Mike
Tad pushes Mike to the waiting car and makes sure he's beted into the backseat!Dottie is in the front and they drive home to Tad's
