Happy Valley-Andrew –Part 15

Happy Valley-Andrew –Part 15
Frankie and company in the chapel
“I hate that woman but I have more important things to worry and focus on right namely my son and his mother.” Frankie says’ have to get back to Randi. I’ll see you later everyone keep praying for Randi.”
Jenny is tired and Greg says his goodbyes promising to pray for Randi at home. Over in the corner Yvonne by herself continues to pray for Randi. Dottie says to Tad“I’m going home to check on the kids T.J.. said he would stay and look after them but I want to check in on them and my restaurant. I’ll be back in awhile Tad. I’ll bring everyone some food .Bye now .” She says kissing Tad
Tad goes over to talk to Yvonne and wait with her and pray with her.
“How are you holding up Yvonne?” asks Tad
“It’s hard Tad. I was just getting to know my daughter and now this. You don’t think she’ll die do you Tad?”Asks Yvonne looking terrified
“Frankie said that he had called Dr. Maria Santos –Grey- Devane .she one of the top neurologists in the country.” Tad reassures
“She’s that good?’Asks Yvonne
“Frankie’s a doctor do you think he doesn’t know who the best doctor is .He wants the best for his wife and he’ll get it with Maria.”Tad reassures again
”Thanks Tad i needed to hear that. Dottie’s a lucky girl. I always wondered what lucky woman would snap you up.”Yvonne says flirting a little
‘Thanks Yvonne but I’m sure on of these days you’ll find the same with someone And be as lucky as I am with Dottie.” Tad says firmly making it clear that Dottie is his love
“That would be nice but so far it’s been lucky at cards but not love.”Yvonne says then it dawns on her ”Wow your good at distraction I appreciate your kindness Tad.”
“We all love Randi.” says Tad” she’s like family to Dottie and I.” Tad replies
“It’s wonderful that my daughter found you all” Yvonne says
“We are lucky enough to have her in our lives none of us will let her go” Tad says
“Thank you Andrew for stepping in to help my son and daughter-in –law.”Angie says
“Frankly my dear I have a lot of making up to do to Randi. If this helps than maybe I’m in small way making it up to her for all she lost and went through.” Says Andrew
“It’s still very generous Andrew.”Angie says
“Jesse didn’t look surprised when he heard about Mayor Blanco and neither did you my dear.”Andrew comments
‘No we weren’t Jesse figured it out from what Yvonne told him we have been keeping it from Randi to protect her.”Angie says
“You are good people I’m glad my Randi found your son.” Andrew says
“Randi is a daughter I love dearly and I couldn’t love her more than if she was my own child.”Angie says
Just then Frankie comes back followed by Maria
“Franklin wanted me to update you on Randi’s condition. Randi has had not one but three strokes.”Maria begins as everyone gasps
“Will she be okay?’Asks Yvonne
“With aggressive treatment we may be able to retard some of the progress of the stroke but you all must be prepared to accept that Randi may be impaired by these strokes.”Maria continues
“Impaired in what way?’ asks Yvonne
‘We will know better in time but the impairment may take the form of slurred or impaired speech, and /or inability to communicate at all. She may not be able to walk or control any movement on her right side the side of the stroke. Simple abilities such as eating and drinking, dressing, bathing, cooking, reading and writing, and toileting may be difficult or impossible tasks to her. We of course will as she heals work with her to improve any of the lost abilities but it will be a hard uphill battle .Randi is going to have to work hard she’s going to get frustrated and need you to support her all of you to win this battle and gain her life back. The hardest part begins now with Randi’s understanding and acceptance of her condition.” Maria concludes as all in the room promise to help Randi anyway they can.
