Happy Valley Hospital the same day
Annie has arrived with Emma to see Aaron
"Where can I find Aaron McGillis?Annie asks a nurse passing by
"Down the hall to your right is the intensive care!'says the nurse
"Mom did she says intensive care?'asks Emma
"Yes Baby she did !I guess Aaron is worse then we thought !Did you get a hold of your dad?'asks Annie
"He went straight to work at finding a new job he's got an interview in nearby Echo Falls!'"some kind of business executive job!"says Emma"he warned me that because of the mountain range there that the reception is poor and that he was saying overnight last night !He said he'd be home by four pm this afternoon!'
"Your father never seems to be home when you need him!'says Annie annoyed
"Don't you think that's a little unfair mom?'asks Emma
"Well maybe but I came home didn't I as soon as you needed me!'states Annie
"When does your tour start up again mom?'asks Emma
"I've postponed it until May!Right after you get out of school so I was wondering would you like to go with me?'asks Annie
"Do you think Dad would let me go?'asks Annie
"He owes me he'll let you go besides if you really want to go he never says no to you!' says Annie
"That's true!' agrees Emma smiling"thanks for distracting me mom!'
"Oh you guessed what I was up to did you?Don't worry honey your cousin wil be okay the doctors here are fabulous!I don't know what happened to him but I'm sure he'll be okay!'says Annie trying to reassure her daughter as they finally reach Aaron's room which has a guard posted in front of it!
"Let me pass who are you?I just want to see my nephew !'says Annie trying to push her way by
"Mom lay off don't embarrass me !'says Emma then to the guard she says "Sorry my mom is upset we adore my couisin.'says Emma smiling putting on the charm
"Identification please?' says the guard
As Annie and Emma pull out their wallets .Emma pulls out hers and condoms fall out!She blushes puts them back in her purse as Annie stage whispers"we will talk about this little reveal later!'then to the guard she says "see I'm Annie Chandler and this is my daughter Emma Lavery!'
"Thank-you your ID's check out.and may I say mam I adore your books!My neices love when I read to them!gushes the guard "my name is Tyler! "I know your here for something very sad but when I get off would you like to go out for dinner!'he boldly asks
"Let me think about !'says Annie blushing"can I let you know when I leave?'
"That would be great thanks may I call you Annie?'asks Tyler
"Yes please do "says Annie smiling and flirting
"Thanks Annie could you please wait her while I ask his visitor to step up there's two person limit to visitors here at the Intensive care!'
"Mom that guy is flirting wildly with you and what about Dad?asks Emma after he leaves"can't he see your nine months pregnant?'
"Emma I have a coat on and I'm not really that big am I?
"No I guess he couldn't tell but still it's embarrassing!
"Emma I am not engaged to your father nor has he even asked me out since his heart attack!I can go out with whom I please!I'm nine months pregnant feel like giagantica and a guy asks me out!Besides he's really cute don't you think!'Annie says sizing him up as we look and see a very handsome man six feet two blue eyes wavy black hair!Very muscular but trim!
"He's good looking mom but this is embarrassing why are guys always trying to pick you up ?asks Emma groaning"and I really think you should wait for Dad!'
"My stunning wit?'jokes Annie"and I can't wait for your Dad !He's so slow and he needs some shaking up! He can't thinkhe can have everything his way at his pace!That I'm going to wait around for him!I have my own life why should I be unhappy and alone because I'm waiting for him.Annie Chandler waits for no man that's my new motto!'
"Good speech mom I almost believe it "says Emma
"Well I'm trying to take control of my life!All I can says to you is don't follow my former example Emma don't let men walk all over you!'says Annie just as Dottie comes out
"oh hello Dottie you were visiting Aaron that was so good of you!'says Annie
"How is my cousin?' asks Emma
"Terrible after everything that Catilin did to him!'says Dottie"how a mother could do that to her child.....
"Are you saying that Caitlin did this?' asks Emma and Annie at the same time interrupting Dottie"I thought it was an accident!'
"Caitlin has lost her mind we've surmised that she beat Aaron and pushed him down the stairs.'says Dottie
"Aunt Caitlin wouldn't do that she loves Aaron!' corrects Emma"you're making this up!
"Caitlin is very ill she atacked Kathy if Tad hadn't stopped her i don't know what she would have done!'says Dottie
"It has to be mental illness!' says Annie knowingly"I hope she's getting the help she needs!'
'She attacked Kathy?but Kathy is so ill is she okay?'asks Emma
"Kathy is sick too ?you didn't tell me that Emma!'says Annie
"I'm sorry mom I knew you were busy with work and then when you went for that week well I was in NYC on your tour I didn't wnt to burden you with my problems!'says Emma
"Em anytime anthing is worrying you I want to hear about it got it "Annie says taking Emma 's fc in her hands"I love you Emma if you worry I want to hear about it and help you anyway I can you got it?"
"Sorry Mom!'says Emma
"Now how is Kathy ?'asks Annie of Dottie
'She's doing okay but it's been hard on her first with the heart condition then with the loss of the baby!'says Dottie thinking Kathy confided in Emma
"Baby ?Kathy was pregnant ?Oh I'm a bad friend that's what she was trying to tell me and I went on and on about A.J.!'says Emma regretfully"she tried totell me about Aaron and I kept talking about my problems on and on!'
"Is heart better?' than asks Annie
"She has a long way to go Dr.Hayward says!'"her heart is going to need a year or more to heal and it's going to need a lot of reat and care!'says Dottie
"But it will get better right ?asks Emma
"With rest and care yes!'says Dottie"Tad is with her now!
"That's good she adores her Dad!' says Emma"do you think it would be okay if I go to see her after I see Aaron?'she asks
"I'm sure that would be fine Emma she'd like that but just remember she may be groggy and tire easily they've upped her meds to get her to rest and stay calm!"says Dottie
"I won't upset her she's my best friend more like a chosen sister then a friend "confides Emma
"She feels the same way about you too Emma!' says Dottie"Aaron is in an induced coma he'll haer you if you talk to him!'
"Thanks Mrs.Martin!'says Emma entering Aaron's room
"Aaron hey it's me Emma!'You have to get better and don't worry about anything we will get your mom help.I mean who knows better than my mom and me about that?'says Emma nervously then tearing up she says"I love you cuz!You may have come late into my family and I may have been a pain to you but I love you Aaron and you have to come back to me!I need my cousin my best friend !'holding his hand and touching his face "besides your girlfriend my other best friend needs you!Fight cuz fight and come back to us okay!
"Hi Aaron I'd like to think that even though I'm not married to Ryan you still consider me your Aunt Annie.All the times you've spent at or house!Annie stumbles her choking up"Who else are we going to get our football lingo from ?You know that I know nothing about football except what you've educated me about !Come on Aaron fight honey and come back to us .As for your mom don't you worry she'll get some good care an get better look at me!You can come live with us if you want until she gets better!I won't mind and neither would Emma!'says Annie pleading
"Mom I want to go visit Kathy will you stay here wth Aaron while I go?'asks Emma"he should have family with him!'
"Sure honey don't you worry I won't leave him!'says Annie
"Thanks mom hope this doesn't wreck your date!'says Emma secretly hoping it will
"If Tyler really wants a date he'll ask me another time if I can't go tonight" says Annie
"Darn !'says Emma under her breath leaving Aaron's room to go to Kathy
Meanwhile down the hall we see Cailtin in a doctor's operation mask and gown reading Aaron's chart
"How can I get in to see my boy ?'Caitlin says aloud and "why are they keeping him from me?'
Meanwhile Annie feels distressed in Aaron's room as she feels the first pains of labor!Fadeout
