Jake is sitting in the dark in Tad's basement
"Jake how long have you been sitting here in the dark? I thought you were at Amanda's!'says Tad"I just came down to get my keys!'I'm on my way to see Kathy!'
"Yes I was at Amanda's but I needed a couple of hours so Amanda is watching Ruth!"says Jake
"What's the problem Jake?I know you grieve for Emily-Ann but you weren't in love with her anymore!'asks Tad
"It's my fault Tad if I hadn't got involved with her all those years ago then her Dad wouldn't have been able to find her here!'says Jake as Tad starts laughing
"And if I didn't turn the lights off every night it wouldn't be dark the sun would stay out!'says Tad
'You don't get it!'says Jake
"I do get it!The incredible guilt you feel because you couldn't stop something from happening!Dixie ate those pancakes and I wasn't there to stop her!'
"But how were you to know?'asks Jake
"Exactly !'says Tad"it took me awhile but I figured that out now I'm going to give you some good advice.Remember Emily-Ann with great fondness speak well of her to Ruth but remember who it is you love and cherish her!'says Tad"because who knows what tomorrow will bring!'
"I feel bad About loving Amanda, Emily-Ann gave me Ruth!'says Jake
'But you love Amanda you were torn with Carolyn but you love Amanda?'
"Yes I love her!'says Jake
"Then prove it to her put her first woe her and win her and be happy that's what Emily-Ann wanted for you!No more brooding!"insists Tad
"I guess you're right says Jake "it is time Amanda came first!'"I'm off to woe the lady in my life!'
"Does Amanda know about her?'jokes Tad
"That's not funny Tad !Amanda is every inch a lady!'says Jake
"Yes and she's almost too good for you bro so make her believe she isn't!'
"Well I'm off wish me luck!'says Jake
"Luck!"says Tad
"Funny!'Haha1'says Jake leaving the house Tad close on his heels to go to Kathy
A short while later Tad at the hospital
Kathy's room
"Hello sweetie! How you doin?'Tad asks Kathy imitating "Joe Tribiani from Friends"
"I'm doing fine Dad don't worry!'says Kathy"and that Joe act is old!'
"Can't believe you think that's old"Can't help the other kid it comes with the job! Worry about you is like taking in air !'says Tad
"David is bringing in this new doctor tomorrow and she is going to help me you'll see!'says Kathy trying to reassure her Dad and herself
"I'm sure she will sweetie I brought you some salmon with broccoli and brown rice!'says Tad
"Yum is this from Dottie's?" asks Kathy opening up the take-out tray!
"Darn you found out my secret I was going to tell you I cooked it!"laughs Tad
'So how's Dottie?'asks Kathy through bites of salmon
"Doing well but itching to see you!'says Tad
"Tell her to rest up and I'll see her soon!how's Jenny?'asks Kathy
"Jenny's fine she's being a little bit of a teen but she's fine!'says Tad
"What did she do?'asks Kathy
"She mouthed off at a teacher so she'll have three day suspension!"
"Oh dear are you sure she isn't upset about something maybe about what has happened?'asks Kathy
'I don't know she won't talk to me I was hoping Krystal could get it out of her but she's busy all the time with Adam!I think they may have taken this week to go on their honeymoon with Haley staying this week!"
"Oh dear maybe that's it Dad!s I mean Krystal always been right next door and now she's not that's got to be really hard for Jenny!'says Kathy
"And you too! I'm sorry sweetie if she knew you were in the hospital she be right here .I bet she'll come flying in where ever you are when she comes back!
She didn't even know you had been kidnapped."states Tad
"I know that Dad Krystal loves me like she was my mom she'd be here if she knew!'I just hope she's having a good time she deserves it!'says Kathy
"Your a really great daughter you know that!' says Tad choking up
"You say that to all your kids!'says Kathy
"Yes I do but I really mean it!I'm a lucky Dad!'says Tad "go to go now see you tomorrow baby love you!'
"Okay see you tomorrow Pops!'says Kathy
"Pops !'I'll give you pops' says Tad tickling her gently
"Uncle or rather Dad!'says Kathy laughing
"Goodnight pumpkin! Sleep tight don't let the bed bugs bite!'
"Oooh Dad there some in some hotels you know?'
"Really yuck!'says Tad
"Yes really now goodnight Dad!"says Kathy
"Goodnight princess!'says Tad
