David's office at the hospital
"Yes Al, this Is Dr.Hayward !Aw huh glad to hear your son still doing well!I have a small favor to ask!Uh huh well it seems that a young man in your high school on your football has hurt someone I know.Yes his name is Aaron McGillis!Ah huh yes I'd like him subtle punished!Scholarship huh!yes do it!'
"Shouldn't have hurt Kathy I'm going to get even with you you little football jock!"says David "Yes that's definitely a start but I'm not done with you!You can't go around hurting women and getting away with it!'
Tad's House
"Jennifer Martin open this door if you think you can hide in your bedroom you can think again! says Tad pounding on Jenny's bedroom door"Jenny I'm not telling you again open this door!'
"I don't have to answer to her!'says Jenny pointedly
"Jenny I'm so disappointed in you and I am utterly ashamed of you!"says Tad
"the Jenny I know isn't malicious petty! You deliberately threw Mike's pizza on the floor?And frankly what you did to Mike borders on sexual assault!'
"What? What are you saying?says Jenny sputtering
"You made Mike lose his towel what would you think if someone did that to you?'asks Tad
"That it was funny?'states Jenny hesitating a little knowing she was in the wrong
"No you would not !'says Tad 'don't lie to me and don't lie to yourself!"
"I guess I would be embarassed and hurt !'says Jenny motioning Tad in her room as he closes the door and sits on her bed
"Then you understand how Mike's feeling! Jenny I know your feeling jealous that's normal but I still love you as much as I ever did!I will never stop loving you!'You are my daughter my flesh and blood but that doesn't stop me from loving JR as my son or Jaime or T.J. or even your sister Kathy!Each one of you is loved as the individual person you are!Now I'm opening my heart up to add more people to our family Michael and Dottie!I was married to Dottie once before and I can tell you the greatest thing about Dottie is her capacity to forgive and to love unconditionally!Dottie wants to be another person you can love and look up to but you have to give her chance and you can't get mad at her when she's tries to help you!
"She wasn't trying to help she just wanted to yell at me!"complains Jenny
"Well if she did I can understand that I wanted to yell at you but I restrained myself!says Tad honestly
"Why does he have to live here!he's taking you away from me!'says Jenny
"Jenny when I was a little boy a mere 10 my Dad took me to a park in Pine Valley!'
"Grandpa Joe took you to a park that was nice!' says Jenny interjecting
"No Jenny you know I'm adopted by the Martins! My biological father was a very bad man he took me to the park broke my arm and beat me up!I don't even remember his excuse but I had to go to the hospital!'
"ohh like Mike!'says Jenny
"Yes like Mike there I met Uncle Jeff who was a doctor.He wanted to adopt me but couldn't so Joe and Ruth did!If they hadn't who knows maybe I would have turned out like my father if I lived to adult!'says Tad
"So Grandpa Joe and Gramdma Ruth saved your life?'asks Jenny
"Yes they did and once more they welcomed Grandma Opal in and helped her too!'says Tad"Do you know what happened to Mike?'
"Somebody hurt him and he was in the hospital and you decide to bring him home?'says Jenny
"Actually Jenny Mike has almost the same story as I did his father beat him up and left him in the park!
"His father did that?"asks Jenny"but why would a Dad do that?"
"Some people Jenny aren't fit to be parents they care only about themselves and what they want and their criminal activities!Unfortunately both my biological father and Mikes' only care about themselves!'explains Tad
"Well I'm sorry his Dad is rotten but does he have to take mine?'says Jenny exasperated
" Jenny he is not taking me he could never take me!As I've stated I love you!But I can also love him!I want him to be part of our family!I still want to do things with you but I want to spend time with him and have him part of the family do you understand that?"asks Tad patiently
"I guess but I still want your time and I want to sometimes do things just with you!'says Jenny
"Jenny I think that's a great idea what if we set one day a month where we just do something just the two of us?' says Tad smiling
"Do you mean that Dad?'ask Jenny smiling through tears of joy
"Jenny I would love to spend time with you!'says Tad
"Oh Daddy I'm so sorry!' Jenny says through tears"I love you Daddy!'
"And I love you pumpkin don't ever forget that!'says Tad
"I'll try to be nicer to Mike that can't be nice having a Dad like that!I guess I could try to share you!'says Jenny
"That's all I can ask but I do think you owe an apology to both of them both Dottie and Mike!'says Tad
"Yes I guess I do !says Jenny'but I don't know what to say!'
"How about just a simple I'm sorry! and maybe some of thsoe choclate chip cookies you make so well!'says Tad
"For you Daddy I'll do it I am sorry!'says Jenny
"Okay then will drop this but don't do this again!'says Tad
"I won't Daddy!'says Jenny
Tad leaves her room and shuts the door and Jenny says aloud to herself
"Daddy feels sorry for you Mike but I don't! You can't have my Dad! I won't let you take him if you think this over think again!I'll just have to be more sneaky about it"
